Regional Academies of Sport

Regional Academies of Sport (RAS) in Australia are specialist regional‑based athlete development organisations designed to provide a stepping stone between local club competition and high‑performance institutes.

They focus on youth (typically ages 12‑18) who are identified as having talent and aspiration, offering them advanced coaching, training environments, competition exposure and personal development support.

Problem

As the overarching governing body, RAS oversee the network of 9 sporting Academies around NSW. Each of which has built it’s own distinct identity over years of local engagement and success.

The challenge was to refresh and strengthen the RAS brand in a way that respected the individuality of each Academy, while creating a clearer, more unified presence across the state.

SOLVD

Working closely with the client, SOLVD developed a refreshed brand identity that strikes the right balance between professionalism and energy – combining a clean, corporate look with a sense of movement and momentum.

To maintain local relevance and continuity, SOLVD retained the unique colours of each individual Academy alongside the master brand palette. These colours became the key points of distinction, while the overall identity was unified to ensure consistency across the network.

The new system is designed to be flexible and future-ready, with logo variations that can be easily applied across uniforms, letterheads, social media, signage and beyond.

The Result? A brand that moves as one.

The updated RAS identity strengthens the organisation’s reputation as a leader in athlete development, while giving each Academy a renewed sense of pride and belonging under one cohesive statewide brand.
